GGGI’s 9th Session of the Assembly and 13th Session of the Council

On October 28, GGGI held its 9th Session of the Assembly and 13th Session of the Council, attended by delegates from 32 Members and 10 Observers of GGGI. GGGI’s Assembly and Council convened the Joint Session in hybrid format – both virtually and in-person at the GGGI Seoul headquarters.

The Joint Session commenced with an introduction from Mr. Ban Ki-moon, President and Chair of GGGI, which was followed by the adoption of the agenda.

Decisions from the Session included, first, approving the Work Program and Budget (WPB) 2021-2022, which outlines GGGI’s programmatic and financial plans in the next biennium to support Members with their green growth transformation and, second, approving GGGI’s Corporate Results Framework (CRF) 2021-2025, which provides the framework to measure and demonstrate the impact of GGGI’s work on its Members’ and partners’ green growth transformation. In the lead up to the Assembly and Council Session, GGGI held two-week-long e-consultations with its Members to discuss agenda items, including updates on membership, accession, and country programming; reports on programs and operations; as well as review GGGI’s on-going efforts to track and report on impacts.

On a related note, GGGI organized a series of virtual events titled: “Transformative Green Growth Knowledge Sharing” in the margins of the Joint Session. The events served as a platform to bring together representatives of governments, donors, and partner organizations as well as GGGI’s country/thematic teams. Members and partners of GGGI had an opportunity to discuss their efforts and commitment to green growth solutions, highlighting key achievements and initiatives.
