GGGI supports the State of Qatar to realize the Qatar National Vision

Doha, January 13 – The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) will be working together with and supporting the State of Qatar in realizing the Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030, particularly contributing to the implementation of the QNV pillars. GGGI will support the country’s vision to create a diversified competitive economy and achieve a harmonious balance between economic growth, social development, and environmental protection. The QNV 2030 envisions to transform Qatar to an advanced country by 2030, capable of sustaining its own development and providing high standards of living for its population and future generations.

On the occasion of initiating activities for the GGGI Qatar Program on January 13 in Doha, a GGGI delegation headed by Ms Hyoeun Jenny Kim, Deputy Director-General and Head of Green Growth Planning and Implementation Division, met with H.E. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Subaie, Minister of Municipality and Environment, to discuss ways to strengthen a mutually beneficial partnership between Qatar and GGGI. The delegation also met with senior officials at the Qatar Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Qatar Fund for Development to convey GGGI’s activities and discuss possible avenues for cooperation.

Qatar is a founding Members of GGGI and Member of GGGI’s Council, the executive organ of GGGI. The GGGI Qatar Program is hosted at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in Doha. Dr. Pranab Baruah has been appointed as the Country Representative for Qatar.
