GGGI Senegal signed an MOU with the State Computer Agency

 

GGGI Senegal and the State Computer Agency singed an MOU, framing their collaboration regarding the Electronic Waste Management Project in the Dakar region. The objective of the project is to ease and promote the environmentally sound management of Electronic Equipment. This component is included in the Wastewater, Plastic Waste and WEEE Management in Senegal Secondaries Cities project through innovative business models for recycling and valorization, funded by Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The Project aims at structuring the WEEE sector in Dakar based on Public Private Partnership (PPP) in order to better organize the collection, transport and recovery of electronic waste, taking advantage of the possibilities of North-South cooperation.

The project aims to have an impact on unemployment rates for the beneficiary populations through the creation of green jobs and the promotion of sustainable, reliable, and affordable ecological services.

THE PARTIES AGREE ON THE FOLLOWING:

  • Support the implementation of the Project through the key activities defined in the Project;
  • Jointly coordinate the preparation and implementation of communication and awareness programs for behavioral change;
