On January 23, GGGI Director-General Frank Rijsberman held a press conference with a group of 10 local journalists in Hanoi.

During the press conference, he said “Vietnam needs to take the opportunity to promote renewable energy, which will have the dual benefit of reducing emissions and creating green jobs while decreasing the cost of energy production.”

He added that green growth has become a priority of many countries, including Viet Nam, adding that shifting towards green growth also creates opportunities for the nations to develop renewable energy, transport, and green construction.

GGGI Viet Nam team has helped train over 100 officials from ministries, sectors and localities, develop urban green growth, draft the national Strategy on green growth and facilitate green growth projects.
