GGGI and the Provincial Government of Bataan sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Solar PV Project and Green Growth Cooperation

Taguig City, Philippines, July 17, 2019 – The Global Green Growth Institute and the Provincial Government of Bataan of the Philippines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on green growth cooperation. This cooperation will also support the Provincial Government of Bataan’s vision of achieving a “Carbon Neutral Bataan.”

Amb. Hyoeun Jenny Kim, Deputy Director-General of GGGI said, “GGGI appreciates this excellent partnership with the Provincial Government of Bataan, since we can only produce tangible and impactful results in the field through this kind of local-level partnership.” She also stated that “I believe Governor Albert Garcia’s strong political will to materialize green growth is now sending a clear signal to investors.”

Albert S. Garcia, Governor of the Provincial Government of Bataan said, “We appreciate GGGI’s trust and partnership with Bataan, and we believe our green growth approach will materialize rapid, efficient, inclusive and sustainable growth for the province.” As a next step, the Provincial Government of Bataan and GGGI will conduct a feasibility study of 50 megawatts solar plant.
