Seoul, Republic of Korea, October 27, 2025 – The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and NH Investment & Securities (NHIS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation for the implementation of the “Collaborative R&DB Programme for Promoting the Innovation of Climate Technopreneurship.”  

The program, approved by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Board in July 2024, aims to create an incubation and acceleration platform that supports and enhances local ecosystems for climate technologies in developing and emerging economies. The MoU establishes a general framework for cooperation and seeks to facilitate joint efforts between the two organizations to achieve low-emission and climate-resilient growth.  

Through this collaboration, GGGI and NHIS aim to contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Climate Agreement by leveraging their respective strengths to drive sustainable and inclusive economic growth through complementary and mutually reinforcing actions. 

To achieve these objectives, the two organizations will collaborate to identify, prepare, and connect local entrepreneurs with global technology providers and investors, enhance the investability of local climate ventures, and foster a robust climate innovation ecosystem. The partnership aims to combine GGGI’s policy expertise and on-the-ground implementation experience with NHIS’s global reach, financial networks, and investment capabilities to drive innovation-driven, inclusive green growth. 

Mr. Sang-Hyup Kim, Director-General of GGGI, stated, “This partnership marks an important milestone in fostering a robust climate innovation ecosystem in developing and emerging economies.” He added, “Together with NHIS, KDB, and the GCF, GGGI will continue to promote knowledge-sharing, strengthen collaboration, and support the establishment of the ‘Climate Technopreneurship Fund’ to help local entrepreneurs turn innovation into lasting impact.”

GGGI·NH투자증권, 기후테크 창업 협력 강화를 위한 MOU 체결

대한민국 서울, 2025년 10월 27일 – 글로벌녹색성장기구(GGGI)와 NH투자증권(NHIS)은 한국산업은행(KDB)과 공동으로 집행하는 녹색기후기금(GCF) 지원 프로그램 ‘기후테크 혁신 촉진을 위한 공동 연구개발(R&DB) 프로그램(Collaborative R&DB Programme for Promoting the Innovation of Climate Technopreuneurship)’의 이행 협력을 강화하기 위한 양해각서(MoU)를 체결하였다.

이번 협약은 개발도상국과 신흥국의 기후기술 생태계를 강화하고, 현지의 기후기술 지원과 투자가 촉진되는 인큐베이팅·엑셀러레이팅 기반을 구축하기 위한 협력 체계를 마련하는 것을 목표로 한다.

양 기관은 각자의 강점을 연계하여 협력 효과를 극대화할 계획이다. GGGI의 현장 중심 정책 자문과 역량개발 경험, NH투자증권의 금융·투자 전문성과 네트워크를 바탕으로 혁신적인 기후기술 솔루션을 발굴하고, 지속가능하고 포용적인 성장을 촉진할 계획이다. 또한 이번 협력은 2030 지속가능발전목표(SDGs)와 파리협정(Paris Agreement)의 목표 달성에 기여하며, 양 기관은 전문성과 경험을 공유해 지속가능한 발전이라는 공동의 비전 실현에 함께할 예정이다.

협력의 주요 내용에는 ▲현지 기후기술 기업 발굴과 글로벌 기술·투자자 연계 ▲유망 기업의 투자유치 역량 강화 ▲공동 연구와 세미나·워크숍을 통한 지식공유 및 기술협력 확대가 포함된다. 또한 양 기관은 기후기술 생태계 강화를 위해 ‘기후테크 창업 프로그램’ 내 펀드 설립 및 운영을 위한 협력 방안을 함께 모색할 예정이다.

GGGI 김상협 사무총장은 “이번 협력은 개발도상국과 신흥국에서 기후혁신 생태계를 강화하는 데 있어 의미 있는 진전이라 생각한다”며 “GGGI는 NH투자증권, 한국산업은행, 그리고 녹색기후기금과 협력하여 파트너십을 확대하고, ‘기후테크 창업 펀드’ 조성을 통해 현지 기업들이 지속가능한 변화를 만들어갈 수 있길 기대한다”고 말했다.

이번 협력은 기후변화에 취약한 개발도상국과 신흥국의 기후기술 창업 생태계 강화를 위한 공동 노력의 일환으로, 양 기관은 기후기술 이전과 혁신적 창업 지원을 통해, 저탄소·기후회복형 성장과 지속가능한 발전을 함께 추진할 예정이다.
