GGGI and KOTRA join hands on economic growth and sustainable industrial cooperation

Seoul, Republic of Korea, September 16, 2022 – Representatives of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to underpin both organizations’ mutual interests in facilitating green growth. Jeoung Yeol Yu, President & CEO of KOTRA and Kyung Nam Shin, GGGI’s Assistant Director General and Head of Investment and Policy Solutions Division (IPSD) commemorated the signing ceremony.

The collaboration aims to enhance economic growth and industrial cooperation with emphasis on environmental sustainability and social inclusion. “Through this work agreement, we expect that high-quality projects held by international organizations will be more actively utilized and disseminated,” President & CEO of KOTRA Jeoung Yeol Yu said. Under the MOU both parties will aim to exchange information on green growth projects, share institutional knowledge and experiences on research, policy, and frameworks., GGGI will also share its projects portfolio including concept papers, industry, and renewable energy projects.

The scope of the collaboration will include the facilitation between GGGI and Korean stakeholders to promote public and private partnership investments and organize project seminars and programs to achieve the 2030 Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) agenda for Sustainable Development and Paris Climate Agreement. “As the one of the leading international organizations in climate finance and carbon neutrality, GGGI will support the international reduction of greenhouse gases of Korea, including cooperating with KOTRA,” Kyung Nam Shin, Assistant of Director-General of GGGI said.
