Seoul, Republic of Korea, June 25, 2026 – The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) of the Republic of Korea, announced the selection of 10 climate technology projects to be implemented in 2026 under the Climate Technology Accelerator Fund (CTAF).
Launched this April, CTAF connects South Korea’s advanced public climate technologies with GGGI’s global network to foster sustainable development in Global South nations. The selected projects, spanning Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, address urgent local needs, from AI-driven smart grids in Cambodia to high-efficiency aquaponics in Jordan.
“The projects selected today demonstrate that the global demand for new methods of climate action beyond traditional climate technologies is rapidly expanding, encompassing data-driven prediction and management, high-efficiency energy operations, and satellite-based early warning systems,” said Kim Sang-hyub, Executive Director of GGGI. “We will strive to develop the CTAF into a premier fund specializing in global climate technology demonstration, creating a cooperative model that engages an even broader array of countries and institutions.”
Lee Eun-young, Director General for Research and Development Policy at MSIT, emphasized, “when public climate technologies move beyond the laboratory and achieve tangible international emission reduction results through overseas field demonstrations, they can generate far greater economic and environmental value. We will continue to actively support Korea’s outstanding climate technologies so they can become practical solutions for climate action sites around the world.”
The 2026 portfolio includes three immediate field implementation projects and seven pre-feasibility studies, laying the groundwork for future climate finance and private sector investment.

About the Climate Technology Accelerator Fund (CTAF)
Established in 2026, the Climate Technology Accelerator Fund (CTAF) is a joint initiative between the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT). The fund matches South Korea’s advanced public climate technologies with global demand across GGGI’s overseas network to support international demonstration and localization. By bridging the gap between R&D and market entry, CTAF enhances the efficiency of green investments and drives the climate tech industry, directly contributing to the achievement of 2030 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Through a KRW 21 billion commitment over seven years, the fund will support at least three global projects annually to accelerate high-impact climate solutions.
