GGGI and iNNpulsa Colombia sign MoU to strengthen the green entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem to promote the sustainable use of biodiversity and carbon neutrality

Colombia’s green entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem receives a great boost to consolidate itself as the country’s sustainable growth engine.

Bogotá, August 4, 2021. GGGI and the National Government’s Business Growth Management Unit (iNNpulsa Colombia) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will allow them to join efforts to work with value chain actors and carry out actions that range from capacity building for  people looking to get started in the world of green entrepreneurship and green businesses that want to scale up, to supporting advanced-stage businesses that seek to mobilize resources to position themselves in national and international markets. This alliance will favor the development of projects related to sustainable land use, energy efficiency, nature-based tourism, among others.

With this memorandum, iNNpulsa becomes one of the allied entities for the implementation of the Norway-GGGI-Colombia Green Growth Programme Phase II, which seeks to promote deforestation control and ensure the supply of ecosystem goods and services, greater mitigation, and better climate change adaptation, as well as sustained and socially inclusive green growth. In the same way, it opens the possibility of establishing new cooperation opportunities so that entrepreneurship and green innovation are consolidated as an alternative to change paradigms and generate opportunities around the value of our ecosystems and biodiversity.
