Busan, Republic of Korea, August 26 – 27, 2025 – The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) participated in one of the leading forums, the Clean Energy Ministerial 16 (CEM16) and Mission Innovation 10 (MI-10), held in Busan, Republic of Korea, this week. GGGI engaged with global stakeholders, high-level policymakers, and industry leaders to share insights, strengthen partnerships, and advance collaborative solutions for the clean energy transition.
On August 26, GGGI’s Director-General Sang-Hyup Kim delivered welcoming remarks at the opening sessions of CEM16/MI10. He emphasized that action-oriented international cooperation and innovation, such as Artificial Intelligence and clean hydrogen, can dramatically accelerate the clean energy transition. “GGGI is actively working to advance clean hydrogen, developing a public-private Initiative (Hydrogen to Green Growth for a Sustainable Future) to harness its full potential, which will complement existing platforms.”

That same day, GGGI also hosted the side event “Mobilizing green finance for the clean energy transition.” The session brought together energy experts, government and private sector stakeholders, and partners. Over 100 participants engaged in intensive discussions exploring clean energy investment and developing effective financial mechanisms and business models to accelerate clean energy transitions.

On August 27, GGGI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) and Korea Hydrogen Alliance (KHA) to advance clean hydrogen and green growth cooperation at the 3rd International Clean Hydrogen Forum. This agreement will allow GGGI to enhance its Hydrogen to Green Growth (H2G) Initiative, broaden the scope of technology transfer, improve capacity building and policy discussion, and expedite the development of projects within its Member States.

GGGI held bilateral meetings with key organizations throughout the three-day event to deepen partnerships and explore collaboration. Here is the list of organizations GGGI met:
- The World Resources Institute (WRI)
