GGGI at Africa Food Systems Forum (AFSF) 2026

The Africa Food Systems Forum (AFSF) 2026, held under the theme “Investing in Africa’s Agri-Food Systems: Nourishing Nations, Growing Jobs, Building Resilience,” marks the Forum’s 20th anniversary. The Forum will bring together Heads of State, ministers, development partners, investors, private sector leaders, research institutions, farmers’ organizations, youth representatives, and civil society to advance transformative solutions for Africa’s food systems.

AFSF 2026 will focus on scalable solutions to strengthen food security, build resilience to climate change, create jobs, and unlock investment opportunities across Africa’s agriculture and food systems.

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) will participate in AFSF 2026 through high-level engagements, strategic partnerships, and technical discussions focused on mobilizing finance and investment for sustainable and resilient food systems transformation across Africa.

GGGI’s Work on Sustainable Food Systems

Across Africa and beyond, GGGI works at the intersection of agriculture, climate finance, landscape restoration, food systems transformation, and circular economy approaches to support more resilient and sustainable agri-food systems. Its portfolio includes initiatives such as the Enhancing Sustainable Land Management and Climate-Resilient Agri-Food Systems in Côte d’Ivoire (LARACI) and the Africa and Middle East SAFE (Scale-up Agriculture and Food Systems for Economic Development) Initiative. GGGI also supports country-level solutions, including agroforestry in Ethiopia, solar-powered irrigation in Uganda, and climate-smart agriculture in Burkina Faso and other member countries. Through these initiatives, GGGI helps governments and partners mobilize investment, strengthen climate resilience, and accelerate the transition toward inclusive and sustainable food systems.
