On Friday, December 13, 2019, a UNFCCC COP25 Official Side Event on the role of carbon markets and climate finance for NDC implementation in developing countries will take place, hosted by Perspectives Climate Group and Center for Climate and Sustainable Development Law and Policy (CSDLAP), with the participation of representatives from the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), Climate Finance Innovators, and Climate Net.

Background

The event presents key lessons learned and recommendations from research on how future carbon markets can be designed and blended with climate finance in order to mobilize finance for NDC implementation in developing countries and LDCs.

During the event, GGGI’s Principal Green Finance Specialist, Ms Fenella Aouane, will present the opportunities and challenges of implementing carbon transactions under Article 6.
