November 6, Hanoi – On November 6, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) together with the Viet Nam Institute of Labor Science and Social Affairs (ILSSA) co-organized a consultation workshop on “Accessing green jobs with a green employment projection model” in Hanoi. The workshop was part of GGGI’s Green Growth and Employment Program that is being implemented in five countries, including Viet Nam. The workshop was aimed at sharing the methodology and initial results of the study on employment projection and skill gap assessment, which is crucial for an effective country-specific policy advisory on employment creation from green growth. The workshop was attended by experts from the Government of Viet Nam, local authorities, research institutes and international organizations. By the end of the year, GGGI and ILSSA will be able to identify a definition and (sectoral) scope of green jobs in the context of Viet Nam’s economic and development objectives, green job baseline assessment, and projection of direct and indirect green jobs for an identified green development pathway.
