Community of Practice capacity building on energy efficiency in buildings

Ouagadougou, June 16,  2022 – The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Urban Planning, Land Affairs and Housing and the Order of Architect of Burkina Faso,  organized a capacity building workshop on energy efficiency in buildings. This awareness workshop addressed the members of the Community of Practice (CoP) on sustainable cooling, mobilized in the framework of the Social Housing Energy Efficiency Cooling Project (SHEECP) supported by DGAHC, GGGI, and the Clean Cooling Collaborative.

This workshop focused on:

– awareness of participants on national and sub-regional initiatives on energy efficiency.

– dispositions related to energy efficiency and sustainable cooling of the revised building code.

– tools on regulatory measures for the energy efficiency of equipment and on energy performance in buildings.

– approaches to raise awareness of the public and sector professionals.

This Community of Practice (CoP) gathers public institutions, private sector, professional associations, and academics and aims to enabling a strong institutional ownership of the green transition of the building sector, towards more resource efficiency and  sustainability.
