GGGI Indonesia in support of the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MoEMR) have conducted an online “Basic Presentation and Infographic Design Training using Canva”. The trainings used the same format but were conducted separately at each Ministry. A total of 35 participants from 8 directorates at Bappenas took part in the training on July 28-29, 2020, and 42 participants from 6 directorates at MoEMR on August 25-26, 2020.
Bappenas and MoEMR strived to improve the skills of their staff in designing good and attractive presentations, using suitable visuals—including infographics—to better communicate with various parties, especially through presentation. The training aimed to enable participants to produce communicative and informative presentations to convey easily understood messages to various audience, from stakeholders to the general public. This is important because visualized data and information could encourage active participation of stakeholders at the national and subnational levels.
The training, which was presented by PT Presenta Edukreasi Nusantara, was divided into two sessions in two days, namely designing a basic presentation on the first day, and designing infographics using Canva on the second day. The trainers provided training materials including leaflets, fonts, presentation examples and video tutorials. The participants were trained to design good presentations with easily understood contents according to target audience. From the post-training evaluation results, participants felt that the training materials were very useful to perform their daily duties and responsibilities. They also enjoyed the interactive format, resulting in some participants excitedly wishing to take part in further training.
