Making the Policy work
GGGI’s website is the primary medium for disclosure. This includes:
- GGGI’s Strategic Plan, Country Planning Frameworks, work program and budget, and audited annual financial statements;
- Information on our programs and projects, and their results, both on our website and (beginning Q4 2018) through the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) registry;
- Evaluations of GGGI’s programs, conducted by our own Impact and Evaluation Unit (IEU) and our development partners;
- Information about GGGI structure, staff roles and responsibilities, as well as Delegation of Authority; staff can also be contacted directly through our website.
- Information about GGGI’s governance mechanisms, our legal framework (regulations and rules) as well as governance documents.
All GGGI Divisions and Departments are responsible for implementing the Disclosure Policy. The Head of Communications is the focal point for the Policy’s implementation and is accountable for the architecture to respond to requests for information.
Staff from programmatic divisions and departments play a key role in communicating with partners and stakeholders, and in ensuring the Policy requirements are met. GGGI staff help promote awareness among the public, private, and civil society sectors regarding the Policy and their right to access GGGI information.
Information requests
Any person or organization may request the disclosure of non-confidential information in accordance with Article 15 of the Policy. Requests should be submitted in writing on the GGGI Contact page.
GGGI will provide a preliminary response to all request for information within fifteen (15) working days of receipt of the request and an estimate of the time required for a full response.
English is the working language of GGGI and responses to requests for information will be provided in English. GGGI may charge a fee to cover material and labor cost for information requests that involve the reproduction of material, which will be communicated to the requestor and will need to be paid in advance.
Appeals
If a requester believes that a request has been unreasonably denied, a request for review may be submitted in writing to:

Appeals should contain:
- Description of the information originally requested;
- Explanatory statement giving facts and grounds to support the claim that GGGI violated the policy by restricting access to the information.
The Director will review the handling of the request for information and make a determination on how to proceed. The outcome of the review will be communicated to the requestor and there will be no requirement for GGGI to provide a detailed explanation of the outcome of the review.
Oversight
GGGI’s Council is responsible for overseeing implementation of the Disclosure Policy. The Institute shall report annually to the Council on the implementation of and compliance with this Policy and explaining any reasons for non compliance.
GGGI will periodically review the adequacy of the Disclosure Policy in line with other international organizations at least once every five (5) years, to ensure that the Policy is in accordance with international good practice.
