Winston Chow is GGGI’s Country Representative in China. He has spent over 12 years working on green economic development, with 5 years specifically on U.S. – China clean energy affairs. Most recently, he was Senior Advisor to the U.S. Department of Energy on clean energy collaborations with China. There, he managed and represented work under two 2009 Presidential Agreements between respective Heads of State. With a staff of twelve, his collaborations spanned multiple renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors as well as integrative policies in sustainable cities.
Prior to that he worked on green economic development policy for New York City under Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and consulted over 45 U.S. State and City governments on green workforce development. Winston also spent time working for the United States Senate, and has run his own consultancy on U.S. and Chinese clean energy technology investments.
Winston is a graduate of Columbia University’s School of International Affairs (SIPA) with a Master of Public Administration.
