Peter Vos is currently Deputy Director and Water Sector Lead, in GGGI’s Investment and Policy Solutions Division. Peter has joined GGGI from the Netherlands. He has worked both in the public and private sector. Before he joined GGGI, he ran his own company Water = Essential, engaged in international water projects. He worked at the sustainability department of the Rabobank, the largest agri-bank in the Netherlands, as water manager. Before that Peter was head water economics and institutions with a large engineering firm, Royal Haskoning. Peter started his career working with the Ministry of Finance.
Peter is a macro-economist by training and has been working in international water projects for over 25 years, both on policy & strategy development and project implementation. He has done a wide range of projects in water supply, water-resources management and irrigation. He has, for example, been engaged in the splitting of the water and electricity company in Rwanda, preparing water investment strategies for Dutch Embassies in Ghana & Benin, assisting the Lake Victoria Basin Committee (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda) on developing a project pipeline to improve water quality, designing an investment fund for water efficiency improvement in Jordan and making a marketing plan for the water sector in Colombia.
