Liang Sun joined GGGI is 2016. He is the China Program Officer based in Beijing. He is responsible for developing and maintaining China programs and relationships with Chinese counterpart entities, and promoting activities that serve the needs of green development in China.
Prior to joining GGGI, Liang Sun worked with the U.S Department of Energy, China Office as the Analyst for of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Programs. There he worked on energy efficiency in industries and buildings, clean transportation, renewable energy development and deployment, and smart grid. His work expanded to distributed energy, sustainable development, and multilateral programs including the Clean Energy Ministerial. He also served as was the Deputy Supervisor of Motor Pool, General Service Office of the US Embassy in Beijing between September 2007 and November 2009. Prior to this, he served as Custom Official at Beijing International Airport from 2002 to 2007.
Liang Sun graduated from Beijing University of Technology in 2002 with a B.A. In 2015, he obtained a Master of Science degree in Global Energy Management, from the Business School of University of Colorado.
