Ilija Gubic is Senior Urbanization and Infrastructure Officer with the Global Green Growth Institute in Rwanda where he is working on advancing sustainable urban development in secondary cities. Previous to his current position, he worked for seven years with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Bangkok, Manila, Nairobi, and New York as Sustainable Urban Development Advisor on projects and program mostly related to climate change adaptation and post disaster reconstruction. Prior to this, Ilija Gubic was with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), where he worked on the Green Growth Capacity Development Programme. Prior to the United Nations, Ilija Gubic was a researcher and scholar at Columbia University in the City of New York, and Politecnico di Milano specializing in sustainable urban development. He holds Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Architecture.
