Mr. Dave Kim is Governance Officer and manages the work concerning GGGI’s Governance Organs and the Secretariat in the Seoul Headquarters. He joined GGGI in 2017.
Prior to joining GGGI, Mr. Kim has worked in academia and private corporations in both the U.S. and Korea, including as a researcher on East Asia foreign and security policies with the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies—a think-tank of the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS)—and the Samsung Economic Research Institute, where he led the SERI Quarterly project. His professional interests have evolved from hard security issues, including East Asia security policies—with a particular focus on nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction, arms control and North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs—to soft security issues, including energy security, human security and green growth.
Mr. Kim holds degrees in International Policy Studies and a Certificate in Nonproliferation Studies from MIIS in Monterey, California and in Political Science from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
