Chiden Balmes works as a Policy Analyst in the Green Growth Planning and Implementation Division of the GGGI UAE Office.
Since joining GGGI in 2012, he has supported various country programs in Kazakhstan, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Peru, Colombia, and Mongolia, providing technical support to governments in developing national green growth strategies, climate change action plans, adaptation and climate resilience programs, green growth best practices, as well as assessment tools and methodologies.
Prior to his stint in GGGI, he worked at the Asia-Europe Meeting SMEs Eco-Innovation Center (ASEIC), where he contributed in the implementation of ASEIC’s communication and outreach activities. He also spent two years in Devex doing analytical work on business opportunities within the international development industry. Chiden has lived in Manila, Beijing, Seoul, and Abu Dhabi in the past ten years. He studied international relations, public policy, and Chinese studies.
