Seoul, October 22 – Professor Kazuhiko Takeuchi, President of the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) in Japan paid a visit to the GGGI Seoul headquarters, and met with Ms. Jenny Hyoeun Kim, Deputy Director-General and Head of Green Growth Planning and Implementation (GGP&I) and several GGGI staff to discuss ongoing and potential collaboration between the two organizations.

Among those topics discussed during the meeting included conducting joint research, sharing knowledge, and building capacity development activities to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) implementation in countries. GGGI is currently coordinating a trilateral China-Japan-Korea green growth initiative where IGES is leading a project on sustainable cities supported by governments and research institutes from these three countries.
