Ambassador Ganbold Baasanjav presents the official Instrument of Approvalto GGGI Director-General Yvo de Boer at a ceremony in Songdo City.
SONGDO, Korea – June 20 – Mongolia formalized its membership status at the ‘Delivery Ceremony for the Mongolian Instrument of Approval’ held on the occasion of the GGGI Council Session in Songdo City, Incheon, Republic of Korea.
H.E. Mr. Ganbold Baasanjav, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Korea presented the official Instrument of Approval to Mr. Yvo de Boer, Director-General of GGGI on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia on June 20, 2014.
As partners in green growth, the Government of Mongolia and GGGI have collaborated since 2011 focusing on transportation and energy sectors with overarching aims to promote green energy systems by addressing environmental and socio-economic challenges in the country. Built on specific analysis and recommendations in the transport and energy sectors, GGGI will continue its program with a focus on green building and infrastructure where the role of private and public partnerships is expected to play an important part of the engagement plan.
Acknowledging GGGI’s vision and mission and its in-country programs, Ambassador Ganbold expressed Mongolia’s interest in cooperating with GGGI in exploring relevant options such as conducting joint implementation projects and research activities in the above areas.
Mongolia signed the Establishment Agreement of GGGI at a signing ceremony in Songdo in June 2013.
