According to Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) on Monday, November 21, it will organize the so-called 1st “Green Roundtable” event attended by representatives of government agencies, ministries and international organizations dedicated to promoting green growth on Wednesday, November 30.
The event will be attended by officials from international organizations, including the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), the Green Climate Fund (GCF), and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) as well as government agencies, public institutions, and research agencies dedicated to promoting green growth.
During the upcoming event, discussions will revolve around ways to increase engagement between Korea-based “green” international organizations and the country’s government ministries, agencies and institutions and seek ways for both sides to cooperate and work closely with each other going forward.
Relatedly, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se met with Dr. Frank Rijsberman, new Director-General of GGGI on Monday, November 21 and expressed his continued support for GGGI, which was established by the Korean government.
During the bilateral meeting with Dr. Rijsberman, Minister Yun suggested ways to strengthen mutual cooperation between the Korean government and GGGI.
Dr. Rijsberman responded by saying that GGGI will actively contribute to drawing up a concrete cooperation plan and participate at the 1st Green Roundtable event next week.
