GGGI granted IGO Observer Status at COP 19

WARSAW –November 18, 2013 –The Global Green Growth Institute was given observer status at sessions of the Conference of Parties (COP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), held this year in Warsaw, Poland from November 11 to 22.

Observers consist of intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations that are not part of the UN system.

“It’s great to know that GGGI is officially an observer at the UNFCCC. As we succeed, we will start to build stronger bottom-up support for the work that is at the core of what the UNFCCC was created to do. So this observer status will provide us with better opportunities to let the members of the UNFCCC know what we are doing and understand how it is contributing to their role,” said Director-General Howard Bamsey.
