Regional Financial Solutions for NDCs

The key barrier to implementing green bankable projects within Country NDCs is the large “financing gap” resulting from mismatching risk-reward profiles that investors seek and the actual project risk profiles. To bridge the financing gap, there is a need for (a) better designed policies (b) better projects, and (c) stronger institutions within countries and regions.

This event will discuss the pool of financial products that GGGI uses and how to scale-up partner countries support in developing bankable green project pipelines in addition to initiating and strengthening collaborative partnerships to speed-up project implementation. The Director-General of GGGI, Dr. Frank Rijsberman, will deliver the keynote address. Mr. Andrei Marcu, Director of the European Roundtable on Climate Change and Sustainable Transition, will serve as the events moderator.
