Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso – November 30, 2018 – The Government of Burkina Faso and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) today signed the Host Country Agreement between the two parties. The signing Ceremony took place in the presence of personalities from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Environment, as well as from the GGGI Country Office team.

GGGI’s Country Representative, Mahamadou Tounkara, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, H.E. Mr Alpha Barry, signed the Host Country Agreement, which provides the Diplomatic Mission Status to GGGI in Burkina Faso, with a set of privileges and immunities to facilitate the operations in the country.

The signing of the Host Country Agreement reinforces the recognition of GGGI by the Government of Burkina Faso and will facilitate its interventions in the country.

Today’s action comes one month after Burkina Faso’s Parliament voted the formal accession to GGGI.
